1116 Seas Street will be home to two returning veterans and their families. With funding from the South Shore HOME Consortium, the Quincy Affordable Housing Trust Fund and Quincy Community Preservation Committee funds, the Sea St. Project marks the fourth home for veterans that NeighborWorks Southern Mass has completed in recent years. These veterans’ homes have also received major support from the Quincy and Weymouth Veterans Services agencies and the regional Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing provider, the Braintree Housing Authority.
Construction began in the spring of 2013 on this site which was the former site of the Houghs Neck American Legion Post 380. NeighborWorks, the City and the neighborhood all saw the benefit in transforming the location into a new way of serving America’s veterans.
